  SBC213X - Board

The SBC213X Board was designed as system board based on Philips ARM7TDMI LPC2138 microcontroller. The small form factor board offers many unique features that ease your development. Format and extension connectors are compactible with MODTRONIX Engineering
Micro X ( Microchip PIC based ) peripherial and prototype boards. We have taken advantage of nicely designed IO and Communication boards by Modtronix and designed ARM7 LPC213X system board aroud their platform.

Features

  • Optional Philips ARM7TDMI LPC2138 family microcontroller with upto 512 KByte program Flash and 32 KByte SRAM can be used with these boards ( for optional pricing
please see request form ) .
  • 14.7456 MHz crystal for maximum execution speed
    • Phase-locked loop (PLL) multiplies frequency with four;
      4 x 14.7456 MHz = 58.9825 MHz
  • 32.768kHz RTC crystal
  • 3.9V RTC Battery - optional
  • RS232 channel with DSUB-9 connector
  • RS422/RS485 interface - optional
  • On-board low-dropout voltage and reset generation
    • Generates +3.3V and +5V from supply
    • +5.0V available for external circuits, up to 500 mA
    • Power supply: 6 - 12 VDC
  • Simple and automatic program download (ISP) via RS232 channel
  • Easy to connect to JTAG signals - 2x 5 - 2mm header for JTAG Interface by Micronix Inc.
  • Dimensions: 58 x 54 mm
  • Two layer PCB (FR-4 material)
JTAG-02 - Wiggler / EasyICE JTAG Board

The JTAG -02 Interface Board was designed to emulate Wiggler (Macraigor's) and EasyICE (Embest ) JTAG interfaces Board can be modified to be configured for both of these type of interfaces . Board connects to the SBC213X via 2mm 10 pin 10 wire IDC cable .

Software to use with this board

The available software options are Rowley CrossWorks, IAR EW-ARM, GNUARM (GCC, OCD, Insight).

  • CrossWork for ARM C compiler and debuger from Rowley Associates, this is the easiest to use package we have tested, works smoothly with ARM-JTAG and programs both Flash and RAM on LPC21xx and many other ARM microcontrollers.
  • Embest IDE C compiler and debugger work from RAM . Flash Programmer can program over JTAG.
  • EW-ARM C compiler and debugger (free for assembly language, 16K limit for C) from IAR Systems. Latest release can program LPC21xx Flash. C-SPY driver for ARM-JTAG have some glitches on newer and faster computers and does several crashes before connect to target. It works fine on older and slower computers though. IAR either is not able to support Wiggler either is interested to not support it to may sell their expensive J-LINK USB tool.
  • KEIL compile debug programs then re-build for Flash and use Philips' RS232 bootloader
  • GCC C compiler from Macraigor Systems. Works smoothly with ARM-JTAG but can't program Flash and user can compile debug programs in RAM then re-build for Flash and use Philips' RS232 bootloader. It may be tricky to setup working environment by unexperienced user.
  • GNUARM another GCC toolchain from Arius.
